New York Tech Week shows up for sales teams.

The move by the maker of ChatGPT also comes a few days before SpaceX hits the public market. Revenue leaders cited several top priorities in how to drive growth: Speed to revenue (54%) Analytics and performance measurement (50%) Customer retention and account growth (50%) AI adoption and governance (47%) New customer acquisition (47%) These priorities address many crucial aspects of the GTM organization and signal that leaders need to put more focus on customer-facing teams to “execute better and build trust, guide customers through complexity, and turn information into meaningful action,” according to the report. Barriers to growth While sales teams are expected to move quicker and produce positive results, there are several constraints leaders highlighted that can pose as roadblocks: Poor integration with existing tools (56%) Manual and time-consuming reporting (48%) Slow onboarding and ramp time (44%) Insufficient AI capabilities (40%) CRM and tool integration are difficult to maintain and keep updated (39%) An up-to-date and efficient tech stack is the best way to eliminate these barriers and set up teams for success. AI is one way to address these tech stack pain points, and Seismic’s report shows that there is still ample opportunity for many teams to further integrate it into their organizations. Embedding AI: Of those surveyed, only 9% said that AI was fully embedded into their tech stack, while 41% said it had been partially adopted. Additionally, 27% said their teams were still experimenting with AI, and 12% said it’s used on an ad hoc basis. At a convening of early-stage founders near the top of One World Trade last week, the stated goal was to air a more honest accounting of the trials and troubles of getting a new tech company off the ground. It was for founders who’ve maybe reached “the point in your founder’s journey where you’re rolled up like a child on the floor, hoping that your company doesn’t succeed,” as Lori Mazor, founder and CEO of AI education company Synthetivity, put it in introducing the session. Read, aim, hire: True to that aim, the panel began with a question about each founder’s biggest mistakes and lessons learned. Elizabeth McCalley, founder and CEO of a marketing platform for early-stage startups called StartStak, said she wished she’d performed more due diligence of people and tech platforms when starting out. “We never saw an AI framework we didn’t love,” McCalley said. “We fell in love with all of them—big mistake. Some are not ready, some are still not ready. Define frameworks that work for you.” These days, StartStak has built its tech stack around the chance that the fast-changing AI landscape can shift at any moment. “We’re able to switch in and out frameworks in days—not that we want to do that,” McCalley said. “Pretty much the entire market is trying to figure out what the market is, what’s important, what’s staying, and that’s how we designed our architecture, around that first principle.” Dive into NY Tech Week’s tech stack chat.—PK SALES & MARKETING ALIGNMENT This one cuts deep Miragec/Getty Images Amid tariff refunds, shifting commodity costs, and a challenged, bifurcated consumer, retailers and brands are wondering—is the price right? After several years of elevating prices, many are now evaluating the benefits of bringing them back down. Many food CPGs—including PepsiCo and General Mills, eager to jumpstart sinking unit sales—have reduced some of their prices over the last few months. Several others, from retail giants like Kroger and Walmart to beauty brands like E.l.f. Cosmetics, have also reconsidered their pricing strategies as a lever to drive up velocities and attract—and keep—customers. Dime Beauty, a prestige skin care and fragrance brand sold at Ulta Beauty, permanently dropped prices by an average of 20% across 17 of its SKUs on May 31. Consumers “feeling the pinch” of beauty prices was a contributing factor in the decision, Dime’s Chief Brand Officer Bernice Merlini told Retail Brew. “We’re prioritizing that long-term brand trust and customer loyalty rather than short-term margin potential,” she said. Nickel and diming: When Merlini, a former L’Oréal and Rare Beauty marketer, joined Dime late last year, she found its pricing strategy had become “siloed” with each new launch, with some not aligning with Dime’s “accessible luxury positioning.” The company decided to drop market prices across several of its cleansers—a core category it sees as an “acquisition tool” but that customers can be price-sensitive to—to under $30, while all its serums are now under $40, Merlini said.
